Liquor Flip


When two entrepreneurs from Calgary approached Fetching Finn to design the visual branding, website, print collateral, and screen layouts for Liquor Flip’s new iPhone and Android app, we couldn’t refuse!

Liquor Flip is a platform that puts weekly liquor store specials and events right at a customer’s fingertips. Designed to complement or replace current marketing flyers, Liquor Flip’s mobile application gives access to store specials when they are most likely to make a purchase. The on-demand details save both money and time.

Inspiration

The inspiration for Liquor Flip’s visual brand style was “vintage industrial”, mimicking the weathered texture and blend of script and block fonts. Their target demographic was 20-40 year old males, white and blue collar, looking for savings on the brand of alcohol they are loyal to. The mission was to combine a modern, stylish vibe with the rustic backyard feel of a weekend barbecue with friends.

Website Design and App Screen Concepts

We designed a one-page website to announce the launch of Liquor Flip in a concise and easily-digestible way. The landing page content is geared to customers, but also has access to sales details to on-board new stores. We designed screen mock-ups for the app developers based on the content the owners required to display at each stage of the user experience.

Social Media Ads

The app launched with a contest and social media marketing strategy that spanned Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. A series of ads were designed to custom fit each platform’s image and text specifications.

Print Collateral

Rack cards containing basic sales information were produced to support the Liquor Flip roll-out in both Edmonton and Calgary. Tent cards were custom branded to promote the new app at the liquor store tills of major chains.

Nikki Takahashi

Nikki is the owner, Brand Designer + Stylist at Fetching Finn Inc. She earned the Governor General's Award with honors in Multimedia Production. By 2009, she was trading in her corporate digital media career to start Fetching Finn Inc., turning freelance brand design into a full-time gig.
